Did You Know?

Duppy Fly Trap is the local name of a plant (Aristolochia Grandiaflora) which is an insect-trapping flower. The plant does not eat the insect but use it as a means of propagation. The plant gives off an unpleasant odor which attracts flies and small insects. After being trapped inside the flower and fully covered with pollen grains, they are allowed to escape, so that when attracted into another "Duppy Fly Trap", the powder is rubbed off and fertilization takes place.

Tour to Little Ochie and Lover's Leap

An adventure to the picturesque Lover's Leap on Jamaica's South Coast concluding with Lunch at Little Ochie, Jamaica's Seafood Specialists.

About Lover's Leap

Legend has it that two young slaves, after their secret love affair had been exposed, jumped to their deaths from this cliff, rather than being separated, Hence the name Lover's Leap. Thousands of people from across the globe have set eyes on one of the most picturesque scenes on earth. The view is awesome, breathtakingly beautiful, and only eyes can describe it best. It is a 1700ft. cliff overlooking the turquoise waters of the Caribbean Sea. Nearly half of Jamaica's south coast is visible from the cliff, not to mention the sky meeting the sea in one oval blue, never seen anywhere on earth. You will never forget this breathtaking experience.

About Little Ochie

God put the fish in the sea to feed man – He blessed the land with the spices and vegetables to ‘nice it up’ and whispered the secrets of creating truly magical dishes to families of fishermen in Alligator Pond on Jamaica’s rustic south coast…

Here each dish is a creation of its own which not only captures the essence of life in this rural fishing village but also promises to delight all your senses. From the earthy flavor of roasted turbot to the savory escoveitch - each meal you share is food for your soul. At Little Ochie food is more than what they do – it’s who they are! We look forward to taking you there and sharing with you a little piece of the south coast. As we say in Jamaica, ‘Mek haste’ (often pronounced ‘mikkase’) – Hurry!
