Ocho Rios is a relatively small seaside resort town – with only two main roads.  It is a cosy and intriguing place to visit, even though you cannot miss the hustle and bustle of residents conducting their business in the heart of the town. Our sightseeing tours will take advantage of this cosy little town’s ambiance and even take you to some places that the locals do not frequent.

The Mystical Fern Gully

Fern Gully is a mystical place. Some years ago the trees and ferns cover was so dense that you had to turn on your car lights when travelling through it … in the day! This is the closest you will come to a tropical rainforest right next to a bustling town. This is unusual. You can leave Ocho Rios and be in Fern Gully in just a few minutes! That is a fast change of pace and ambiance. But it is worth it! There is no other place like it in Jamaica. There are over 160 different types of ferns found in Jamaica. Some of them are found nowhere else in the world.  You will also see tree ferns, which were around in the time of dinosaurs. Even though Fern Gully may look like a scene from the movie, Jurassic Park, we can assure that there will be no dinosaurs here – nor any wild animals or poisonous snakes, for that matter. They do not exist in Jamaica – at all.

Great Lookout Point

For some truly fantastic photographs, we will also take you to Shaw Park Gardens. It is about 600 feet above the town of Ocho Rios. You will be able to look down on picturesque scenes that are truly unforgettable. You will see boats on the ocean, the sprawling Sunset Jamaica Grande, once the largest hotel in Jamaica, white sand beaches, the cruise ship pier and get some refreshing sea breezes to cool you off. 

Real Rural Jamaica

Breadnut Hill, also called Spice Mountain, is another Ocho Rios excursion that you will not regret. You get to see where Jamaican live, where they go to school and church, where they farm and where they play. The bonus is that you will also see some stunningly beautiful sceneries of the ocean and mountains along this narrow, winding country road.
